Questions
- How is reading time worked out?
- It assumes 200 words per minute, an average adult reading speed for everyday text. Dense or technical writing takes longer.
- How do you count a word?
- Anything separated by spaces or line breaks counts as one word, so "well-known" counts once and a number like 1,500 counts once.
- Does it work with Bangla and other languages?
- Yes. Characters and words are counted the same way in any language that separates words with spaces.
- Is there a limit on how much text I can check?
- No fixed limit. A whole book chapter is fine, because the counting happens in your browser rather than on a server.
