Questions
- Why will my WebP not open?
- WebP is a newer format made for websites. Modern browsers read it, but older phone galleries, printers and some editing apps do not. JPG is understood by all of them.
- What happens to a transparent background?
- JPG cannot keep transparency, so see-through areas become white. Use WebP to PNG instead if you need to keep them.
- Does it work with animated WebP?
- Only the first frame is converted, because JPG cannot hold animation.
- Is the quality reduced?
- Slightly. The JPG is saved at 92% quality, which normally looks the same to the eye.
